Evelina London Hospital

The Evelina hospital is part of the Guy's and St Thomas' Acute trust and acts as the local tertiary paediatric centre for the South Thames, Kent, Surrey and Sussex regions.

As of February 2020, there are 11 substantive consultants and 3 specialist nurses.

​

This is the local paediatric cochlear implant centre and provides specialist paediatric ENT services in airway disorders, ear and sinus disease

The training jobs at Evelina

On-call:

  • Weekdays:

    • 8am - 5pm there is no formal on-call registrar

  • Weeknights: Starting from 5pm until 8am the next day, as non-resident on-call (1st on-call is an ENT or general surgical SHO)

    • Covers Basingstoke, Frimley, ​Guildford, Ashford & St Peters' Hospitals

  • Weekends: 5pm Friday - 8am Monday. Non-resident on-call registrar as 2nd on-call

  • On-call room? If you live too far to do non-resident on-call at home, on-call room is available:

    • How to access? Book in advance (if so, how?) or collect key if needed

Rota/Timetable:

  • BMA Contract compliance:

    • Work no more than 8 days in a row - Before or after weekend, 2 days are given as "off" - these days are different dependent on rota

  • JCST compliance: All job timetables are JCST compliant as stand alone jobs
